I have not been very good about posting lately. Upon returning from NY 2 weeks ago, mommy had a bummer of a cold so Brandon and I stayed out of the house to let her get her rest. We started our adventure by visiting a cool park over by his Meme’s house.

This place is super cool because in addition to the big lawns, swings and slides is a nice sized man made lake with loads of ducks that come up close to say hello!

We walked up to a memorial, but Brandon had his heart set on going back down to the water.

The colors of fall are in full swing (lasts a bit longer in CA because of the warmer temps as well as the many sorts of trees that we enjoy) It brings me great joy that my little man both notices and enjoys the things that are beautiful weather or not we pay attention and notice.

We had a great time putting our boats (fallen leaves) into the stream to watch them drift along the rocks and into the lake.

It was great to follow them down. When we were patient, we could even see them go from one side of the walking bridge to sail under and to the other side.

Fortunately the fall season provided a seemingly endless supply of crafts to launch into the water!

As the sun went down on our Saturday – we stopped to enjoy the ducks.

On Sunday – after we went out for burgers and fries (his new favorite weekend treat) – We ventured up to my cousin’s ranch on the Northgate side of Mt Diablo.

It was a LOT of fun get up close to say hello to one of her horses.

As we pet this pretty gal, she surprised us both by putting down her hay to give us both a big kiss.

After talking it up with the horses, my cousin brought out the quad so that Brandon could check out this cool ranch 4×4.

The riding arena made for a REALLY cool spot to do couple low speed lapse.

Not sure how many circles we went in before my cousin Lorie opened the gate so that we could expand our circles to check out other parts of the ranch with this nifty 4×4.

With the gate open, we were on our way to check things out on the other side – Our circles becoming a figure 8 to opposing sides of her ranch.

It is questionable who had more fun zipping around on this quad, but if smiles could talk there would have been a lot of chatter over the sound of the engine.

Thankfully, my cousin had a steady hand to snap a bunch of shots of us as we enjoyed the tour of the ranch.

The day came to a close and we left my cousin’s place to go and pick up some dinner to bring to mommy back at home. As we pulled up back into town, Brandon surprised me by pointing out the pretty colors of the sky. There is nothing finer in this world then spending quality time with my little dude. He was right… the sunset capped our weekend with a colorful bang!
